Colophon Canvas Tote
Every book I bind gets a tiny paper ticket tucked inside the cover: my binder’s mark. It’s Piero on his hind legs reaching for a gold star, tangled up in oak leaves and acorns, with Ex Officina Ligatoria along the bottom. That’s Latin for “from the bindery workshop,” the old-school way binders signed their work. Now it’s on a tote, so you can sign your library haul too. 📚
The full colophon is printed on cotton canvas: Bindery Green and Antique Gold on Natural, so it looks like one of my real tickets blown up, or all Antique Gold on Black and Burgundy for a moodier, old-library vibe. It’s light enough to fold into your bag and sturdy enough for a stack of library books, a farmers market run, or the “just one more” paperbacks you swore you weren’t buying. (We’ve all been there. I’m usually the one there.)
Colors: Natural (green and gold), Black (gold), and Burgundy (gold)
The details:
Binder’s ticket print in green and gold (Natural) or all gold (Black and Burgundy)
100% cotton, 140 g/m² (about 4.1 oz/yd²)
One size: 15" x 16.5" (38 x 42 cm)
Carrying handles: about 26" long (67 cm), easy to sling over your shoulder
Holds about 10 liters, roughly a solid stack of hardcovers
One large main compartment
Care: Wash cold, air dry, and skip ironing over the print to keep it crisp.
