Warranty & Replacement Information
Overview
As a perfectionist and lover of books, I take great pride in the quality and durability of my work. Every custom binding project I make comes with a lifetime warranty — because I stand behind what I make, full stop.
As long as the book was made by me, regardless of how it came into your hands, I will fix it.
What's Covered
- Cover fabric tears, rips, or fraying — any damage to the cloth, leather, or other cover material
- Damaged spine or cover — structural issues like cracks, breaks, or noticeable misalignments
- Loose pages — pages that have detached or are in danger of falling out due to weak binding
- Torn or broken stitches — any damage to the stitching that holds the pages together
- Glue failures — adhesive issues causing parts to come loose
- Other — if you have an issue that isn't listed here, reach out and we'll talk through it
What's Not Covered
- Misuse or abuse — damage from intentional misuse, neglect, or rough handling
- Third-party modifications — if someone other than me has altered or modified your book, the warranty is void
Replacement Policy
If your book is beyond repair due to severe damage, wear and tear, or environmental factors like water, fire, or extreme heat, I'll recreate it for the cost of materials only. Work won't begin until that fee is paid in full.
How to Make a Claim
Making a warranty claim is simple:
- Email jess@jestercatbinding.co with your name, order number (or book title/author), a description of the damage, and photos
- If I need the book back for inspection and repair, I'll let you know — I cover return shipping for warranty repairs
- That's it!
Bought the book secondhand? Doesn't matter — if I made it, I'll fix it.
Questions? Reach out at jess@jestercatbinding.co — I'm happy to help figure out whether your issue is covered and what the next steps look like.
