You stay put, I'll drive.

The whole class — instruction, materials, tools, mess — brought to your kitchen table, office or venue. Bozeman and well beyond it.

About

Bookbinding, at your place.

Why come to me when I can come to you? A House Call brings the whole class to your home, office or venue — solo or with a group of up to ten. You set the scene, I bring everything else.

All materials and tools provided. No experience necessary. Scheduling that fits your life.

Perfect for

Any reason to stay in.

  • House party
  • Bachelorette
  • Birthday
  • Team building
  • Gift experience
  • Just because

What's included

I bring everything.

  • 3 hours of hands-on instruction — guided step by step, at your group's pace.
  • All materials and tools — book cloth, HTV, adhesives, tools, everything. Just open the door.
  • Custom scheduling — we pick a date and time that works for you.
  • A finished handbound book — everyone leaves with something they made themselves.
  • Fully private — just you, your people, and your own space.
  • Beginner-friendly — zero experience required. Seriously, none at all.

What you'll need

Just a few basics.

I handle the supplies. Here's all I need from you to make it work.

  • Seating for everyone

A seat per person is a must. Comfort is a bonus.

  • Power outlets

Somewhere nearby to plug a few things in.

  • A table, preferably

A table everyone can work at is ideal — but we can make the floor work too.

  • Your own snacks

Drinks and snacks for your group are the one part that's on you.

Pricing

Simple, transparent rates.

Same per-person rates as a Private Class, plus travel. Inside 30 miles of Bozeman that's a flat $25, already included in the totals below. Further out, see How far I'll go underneath. A 25% deposit holds your date either way.

A note on length and complexity. The rates below are the base price for a standard 3-hour class — a cloth-cover rebind or a classic journal. Longer or more involved projects (leather, binding from scratch, a 300+ page text block) need more time and materials, and I quote those individually.

Not sure what your project needs? Ask before you book and I'll give you an honest estimate. No surprises.

  • Standard

    3 hours

Cloth-cover rebind, journal, or a simple sewn binding. This is what the table prices.

How far I'll go

Anywhere in Montana, honestly priced.

Bozeman is home, but I'll drive. Billings, Great Falls, Missoula — those are real days on the road, so travel is priced in tiers instead of hidden in the per-person rate. Here's the whole formula, so you can work out your own number before you ask.

  • Tier 1

    Within 30 miles

Bozeman and the near valley. No minimum group size.

    Flat $25
  • Tier 2

    30–100 miles

Livingston, Big Sky, Ennis, Helena and similar. Same day, home that night.

    $25 + $0.70/mile round trip past the first 30
  • Tier 3

    Over 100 miles

Billings, Great Falls, Missoula and beyond. Minimum six participants, because the drive costs the same whether one person binds a book or eight do.

Mileage as above + $200 travel day · lodging at cost if it can't be a same-day round trip

What that actually comes to. Billings, eight people: $600 for the class, $158 mileage, $200 for the travel day — $958, about $120 a person. Great Falls with a night in a motel lands nearer $140 a person.

Split across a bachelorette party, a staff retreat or a milestone birthday, that's a reasonable number, and it means I'm not eating a fourteen-hour day for free. Send me your town and your group size and I'll do the arithmetic for you.

Weather and road conditions can change what's drivable, especially between November and April. If there's a problem I'll tell you well ahead of time, not the morning of.
